Turn expectations into criteria
A buyer in the 1688 community reports receiving colours that differed from listing photographs. This is an unverified personal account that informs a question, not evidence about every seller. [1] Our editorial recommendation is to record acceptance criteria before paying. “Good quality” alone does not tell anyone what to inspect.
Use one line per SKU
Record the link, model, seller’s colour name, size, material, quantity and included accessories. For clothing, add required measurements in centimetres and how to take them; for an accessory, specify the compatible device model. Do not rely only on S/M/L labels or translated colour names. Save a dated screenshot of the selected variant.
Decide whether to order a sample
For a batch or a material-sensitive purchase, discuss a sample before the main order. Confirm its cost, delivery, timing and relationship to production: is it an existing stock item or a specially made prototype? An approved sample provides a reference but does not guarantee that every unit will match. Agree on batch verification separately.
Define the warehouse check
Request specific views, label photographs and measurements in advance. Confirm which checks are available and their cost. Photographs cannot establish material composition, durability or electrical safety. If functional or laboratory testing is needed, define the method and provider before purchase; do not assume it is included in ordinary warehouse receiving.
Set a dispatch decision
Specify that mismatched goods must not be substituted or dispatched internationally without your approval. Compare the report with the order, retain the seller conversation and check the deadline for raising an issue. Include the destination country and city for Ukraine or Moldova: checking an item and confirming transport acceptance are separate decisions.
