Everyday home-care products: prepare a sourcing request
Compare dimensions, materials and instructions for mats, organisers and everyday household aids.
Define the location and use conditions
Start with a specific task: organising storage, choosing a mat or finding a convenient household accessory. This article helps prepare purchasing information; it does not establish a product’s medical suitability for an individual.
- Record available dimensions and the surface material.
- Describe wet or dry conditions and cleaning requirements.
- Include a location photo without personal or medical information.
Clarify the claimed property
Terms such as “non-slip”, “ergonomic” or “antibacterial” do not explain test conditions. Request documentation for the exact model, material and variant you intend to buy. A product photo is not evidence of testing.
- Ask which surfaces a mat is intended for and how it should be cleaned.
- For an organiser, confirm internal dimensions, material and closure.
- Establish who issued a test report and whether its model matches the offered product.
Separate accessories from body-support products
Rails, seats and other products intended to support a person need separate checks of documentation, installation conditions and stated load limits. Confirm suitability with the appropriate specialist rather than choosing by price or appearance alone.
- Request complete instructions and conditions of use.
- Establish who will assess the mounting surface and carry out installation.
- For medical devices, check sale and use requirements separately.
Agree acceptance criteria
Before ordering, agree sample checks, included parts, packaging and the response to discrepancies. A visual inspection does not replace testing of claimed properties. Stock and shipping acceptance are confirmed separately.
- Include model, dimensions, quantity, material and destination city in the enquiry.
- State the required instruction language and whether you need a sample.
- Ask for separate goods, packing, inspection and shipping costs.
